It is Necessary!

Hi everybody! I hope everyone is have an amazing day so far! We are almost there y'all (TGIF that is)!
Okay so, I know this blog is going to steer slightly away from what we've been discussing for the last couple of weeks, a woman's worth. But I felt compelled to write about it because, truthfully, this is something I struggle with, and I'm sure many of you can relate. And that's taking care of myself.
I know, I know...many of us run around here with the letter "S" on our chests (Superwoman). We run the house, make our money, grow our businesses, take care of the kids, cook, clean, lovers to our husbands, that obedient vessel for the ministry, and on and on. But in all of that, what are we to ourselves?
Ladies, I know some of us have been made to feel guilty about taking care of us FIRST. Some of us have been told how unbiblical that type of thinking is. But let me assure you of this, if we don't take care of ourselves FIRST, we won't be good for anything to anyone!
Self-care is NOT self-consuming, absorbing, centered, or sinful. Self-care is understanding the importance of maintaining this vessel (our bodies and minds), given by God, so it could be of good use! 1 Corinthians 6:19 says that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Though that scripture refers to fleeing from sexual sins, it can also relate to taking care of our bodies, period.
Whether that looks like setting aside some time to read, nap, take a hot bath, get a mani/pedi (oh don't mind me, just injecting my wish list in here), journal, a walk, exercise, or whatever...self-care is fuel for the body.
We were created with a plan in mind. We are God's masterpieces (Ephesians 2:10). Works of art receive supreme treatment because of their exquisite nature. I'd say we should treat ourselves the same. Blessings!
We'd love to hear from you!
What are some of your ideas of self-care and why do you feel it's necessary for you?
